Meet Your Certified Life Coach
Hi, I’m Yvonne Victor and I’m a certified Life Coach + Business Coach in Raleigh NC. After 30+ years in corporate, I thoroughly understand how overwhelming the life of a professional can be, especially for women. My life coaching practice is centered around helping you reconstruct a lifestyle that is balanced, fulfilling, authentic and manageable. There is nothing better than seeing my clients living life “wide open” after life coaching with me and I welcome you to take that leap but before you do, I want to share a little about me.
Why do you coach?
I have an incredible life but I had to figure out how to create it on my own. I didn’t have a life coach or mentor to guide me. Many of my family and friends were in the same boat as me. Likewise, I didn’t know anyone who was living life the way I wanted to, and so I had to forge a path and figure it out. Although the end game is pretty fabulous, learning by “trial and error” is difficult, expensive and sometimes heartbreaking. I wouldn’t wish that on anyone. Life Coaching allows me to help others create these fascinating lives in a very strategic, timely and cost-effective manner. They’re able to start seeing results within weeks…not 10 years from now and who doesn’t want that?
How did you get started coaching?
After 30+ years in corporate administration, I could feel the tide turning. I wasn’t excited about my work anymore and every day seemed like a battle just to make my way to the office. I’m sure everyone around me felt it also. My youngest child was positioned to graduate from college in a matter of months and my oldest was well on his way creating a successful life and career in Arizona, not to mention that I have the world’s most supportive husband. After a little divine intervention and some deep soul searching, I decided to go to school to become a Life Coach. I had always been the “go-to girl” in my personal and professional life. Folks felt comfortable seeking my help with very intimate and difficult situations and always came out on top. So life coaching was the perfect transition for me.
What is the best thing about coaching?
I LOVE when my client has a breakthrough! In this profession, you generally meet people at a very stressful time in their lives. They come to me confused, depressed, overwhelmed, unhappy, lonely, unhealthy and lost. However, I have the privilege of helping them turn that all around. It never fails that after a few sessions, they get their first breakthrough and I’m lucky enough to be one of the first to hear about the new job, the restored marriage, the weight loss, and the renewed hope. I swear I cry every time!
What type of people coach with you?
The people who coach with me are well aware that they need help getting “unstuck” and reaching their goals. I don’t have to convince them of that. They’re ready to commit to the process 100% and make the investment in themselves. They have a particular pain point that they want to resolve immediately and completely and are confident that I can help them do that.
What do you wish others knew about life coaching?
I wish people knew how life coaching could dramatically transform their lives. They understand that in order to be an Olympic swimmer, a first draft pick for the Pittsburgh Steelers, or a finalist on American Idol, that you need a coach. However, when it comes to our personal lives, we would rather go it alone and waste both time and money. Life Coaching + Business Coaching grooms you for success the same way vocal and athletic coaches do. We’re professionals who have the education, experience, and strategies, to get you where you want to be faster than you will ever do it yourself. There are dreamers and there are doers. Who do you think is winning the game?
What three things most people don’t know about you?
No. 1: I wanted to be a Journalist when I was young. I’m a pretty decent writer and according to my kids…nosey. My Mama still calls me Brenda Star.
No. 2: I’m very sensitive and cry at the drop of a hat! Commercials, YouTube videos, my grown children sleeping in their childhood bedrooms…basically everything.
No. 3: If I wasn’t a life coach, the thought of living in flip flops and running a taco stand at the beach does sound enticing.
What do you do when you are not coaching?
When I’m not Coaching, I spend my days cooking, Road-Trippin’, cuddling with my Hubby, and leaving multiple messages on my children’s cell phones.
